My plan is just to re-run the copy after the initial huge sync finishes and hope that it just works. I'm currently getting some copy failures here and there which I think might have to do with the long encrypted file paths. Try reducing the number of "interactions" you have with ACD so turning off unnecessary file checking will help the process be more reliable (disable checksums and modify date and if possible just rely on file sizes with "-size-only" at least for the first sync). I've found that I can reliably copy 500MB-2GB files using "-transfers 16" without it hanging. Just "ejecting" the ACD drive and reconnecting resolves the issue. Not sure if it's the ACD API limit or if ExpanDrive just can't handle it. I think pushing too many calls over the ACD connection breaks it. I've had the rclone copy hang with zero transfer. If at all possible I would limit the number of parallel calls you perform over ExpanDrive (to the mounted ACD drive). I'm able to get ~65Mbytes/s performance migrating from ACD to GDrive with the VM deployed in us-central1-a. I followed the steps above and am just doing a rclone copy straight from the expandrive_acd remote to my new remote on Google Drive.

Personally, I'm using the $300 free Google Compute Platform with a Windows Server 2012 R2 VM with 50GB of local storage. Run a "rclone.exe lsd expandrive_acd:" or similar to view the encrypted files in ACD.įrom here you can use whatever rclone commands you want to migrate the data to another cloud provider or back locally unencrypted.

Using the official Amazon Cloud Drive app you have to download everything locally and who has the disk space for that? Like many others I'm stuck with all of my encrypted data in Amazon Cloud Drive and no easy way to get it or migrate it. Besides, I've gotten so much use out of this tool I can't live without it.
